Tips for using DriveNow
Our practical tips for using our app and cars will help you get the most out of your DriveNow trip.
Get going quicker - plan your trip before you get in the car
We've added loads of new features to make your DriveNow trip as simple and easy as possible. You can now get started before you're even behind the wheel.
Once you've reserved your car, pre-plan your journey by:
- Choosing if it's a private or business trip
- Entering your destination
- Reduce your excess from £750 to £350 for only £1 with our Collision Damage Waiver
- Book an hourly or daily package. You can choose packages ranging from 2 to 96 hours
You can do all this in our app, before you get in the car. You can check or change the information at any time before you unlock the car.
When you’re within 150 metres of your car, press Unlock in the app to open it.
The app will also give you an overview of any existing damage on the car. You should check this and report any new damages to our call centre. You can call directly from the app.
This means that you've got everything sorted before you're even behind the wheel. All that's left to do now is enter your PIN using the iDrive controller...and you're off!
If you need any help getting going, check out the handy "Help getting started" feature in the app.
Please note: your rental starts when you enter your PIN in the car and you will only be charged from this point. We will only contact you by text message if something goes wrong with your reservation.
Of course, you can still make a spontaneous reservation by holding your DriveNow customer card up to the reader on the windscreen, but you'll need to go through the questions on the in-car display once you're in the vehicle like you do now.
