At the start of September, DriveNow UK was super excited to be involved in our first (that we know of) wedding! Loyal customers Jake and Luciano decided that on their big day, flexible car sharing was the perfect option for their wedding cars. The ceremony and reception venues were both in the DriveNow Zone and they would be able to drive themselves and their wedding party - meaning less stress and less money spent than on a conventional wedding car. Plus, arriving at your wedding with the top down in a MINI Convertible on a sunny London day sounds pretty ideal to us. Both started at different locations in North East London and used a DriveNow MINI Convertible each. They drove to their ceremony in Stoke Newington, parked one car on ‘Park & Keep’ and ended the rental on the other. Then drove together in the same convertible to the reception near Victoria Park where they ended their rental – a special way of using an hourly package.
Luciano is a lecturer in Architecture at the University of Kent, and loves technology and everything that helps us to get connected and reduce distances between each other. Jake is a travel writer and comedian, and loves travelling, comedy and food, especially when the three intertwine! Find out why they also love using DriveNow:
How often do you use DriveNow?
Luciano: Weekly. I like driving with Jake during the weekend!
Jake: Weekly. A weekend is my chosen DriveNow time as no one should be in a bus or on a train on a Sunday because, well, ewwww!!!
Where do you drive to?
Luciano: I generally drive to Granary Square. I love this new part of London – a beautiful mixture of listed buildings and contemporary architecture. King's Cross is also my city-hub where the trains for my commute depart, where my swimming pool is and where my friends live. Going there with DriveNow improves the mood of my day!
Jake: Usually I drive to the canals of London for a walk or just to brunch. Sometimes I just drive to joyride around London in style and without the annoyance of people experiencing bouts of tube rage.
What is the best feature of DriveNow?
Luciano: I love that all the cars are just beautiful! DriveNow is a good alternative for travelling in London that everyone should consider. It's easy!
Jake: It's just so darn easy. Like seriously, there's never not a DriveNow car outside my house.
Which is your go-to car and why?
Luciano: I like the electric BMW i3 because it gives you a tangible glimpse of what the future will (hopefully) look like: just electric cars, no pollution and no noise.
Jake: The convertible mini because HELLO! Not only is it such a novelty but without a roof you get to really be exposed to London's beauty!
